Description of Japan's Financial System |
"Find out how the developments of the past few years have created the pressures for the Big Bang reforms and what opportunities it will present for different financial institutions."
The Japanese financial system is experiencing the most profound changes of the post war era. The prolonged experience of recession has prompted a fundamental re-examination of the mechanism for allocating capital within the world’s second largest economy.
The "Big Bang" proposed reforms of the financial sector are distinctive in the Japanese context because of the priority which is being given to them and the break with the tradition of gradualist reform which previously characterised the approach to the sector.
Backed by solid statistical material, this book provides an essential tool for understanding the processes that are transforming Japanese financial markets in light of the new, and potentially more profound, wave of deregulation and new competitive prices.
Japan’s Financial System: Restoration and Reform combines the latest data and statistics with commentary and analysis to equip the reader with both the context and the elements that stand behind a sector, a company or a market.
