Description of Bite |
Tomorrow should be the greatest day of Erica Stroud-Jones's life. The brilliant young British scientist has found a revolutionary way to beat a deadly tropical disease.
Millions of lives could be saved, a Nobel Prize beckons.
She is in Amsterdam. Tomorrow she presents her secret research to a scientific conference. Watching her will be sceptics and rivals, admirers and enemies. Erica's own eyes will be on sculptor Max Carver, her new American love, to whom she wants to dedicate her achievement.
Tomorrow never comes.
Erica vanishes during the night. Max, a tough former coast guard, is determined to find her. As he digs for clues he finds jealousy, malice and cunning. But even he is shocked by the dark terror he finds at the heart of the woman he loves.
Not only a page-turner, Bite gets to the core of the debate about pharmaceutical ethics.

ReviewsWhen his girlfriend Erica disappears in the middle of the night, Max Carver gets caught up in a plot to unleash a deadly epidemic in this gripping tale of blackmail and revenge. Against the backdrop of a devastating disease,
and violent criminals, we discover the terrible secret locked away in a kidnapping years earlier that links Erica to the unfolding events. This a masterful and dexterous weaving together of characters and plot, and a real
page turner. Nick Louth will drag you out of your parasite-free comfort zone in this immensely satisfying read.
Rosie Carr, Investors Chronicle
Bite is gripping stuff. Right from the first scene on the plane I was hooked. It is an unusual subject that helps it stand out from most thrillers. There are interesting characters, that again make it different to many run-of-the mill heros in thrillers. The diary entries are so well written, so descriptive of somewhere you just wouldn't want to be. The whole book is an excellent, gripping read. Get one - you won't be disappointed!
Mrs L. Barker
Stands up easily against any of the current big name thriller writers. A good story and deals with some important issues.
Paul Martin
This is an utterly gripping thriller. Set in Amsterdam and Africa it covers a subject rarely touched by fiction, meaning it is a book that really stands out from other thrillers.
The characters are well formed, believable and again, not the run-of-the mill 'heroes' as often in your average thriller. The story starts on a plane - I was hooked within the first few pages. Part of the book is as a diary which is beautifully written but also is so descriptive you know you would not want to be there yourself.
This is a real page turner - buy a copy & you won't be able to put it down until you finish it!
