Description of Make Your Move... And Make the Most of Your Life
Tips from Make Your Move . . .

Harvesting Your Bonus Decade

"In the second half of the 20th century, modern medicine bestowed on you an incredible gift—10 extra years of life, or, put another way, 15 percent more life to live. It′s never too late to put another decade to good use."

Making Your Days Count

"Make each of your days mean something, and you′ll have no desire to relive them. You′ll look back with satisfaction and forward with anticipation. You won′t be laden with misgivings over hollow years (or maybe decades) void of rich memories and noteworthy attainments."

Triumphing over Procrastination

"The key to overcoming this troublesome habit is recognizing that procrastination is generally ′all in your head,′ a problem more of perception than reality. After all, dreading work is usually more agonizing than actually doing it."

Making Things Happen

"Pioneering behavior can expedite your ascent in the world. It′s the difference between being in the pack and leading the pack. You become the one who seizes the moment, commands the charge, and sets the pace."

Dusting Off Your Dreams

"A dream that gets you fired up about possibilities, quickens your pulse, and strikes a little fear in your gut is worth going after. . . . You feel energized about what you and your life can become."

Nourishing Your Mind

"I consider enlightenment to be the real energizer of life. Raising your consciousness, continually learning more, and becoming smarter are nourishment for the mind—the same as food and water are for the body."

Rising above the Mean

"It is about our self–requirement to be on the right–hand side of the bell curve—not settling for average or for doing the minimum just to get by. It′s about our innate longing to stand apart, to jut above the masses, and to be noticed."

Dealing with Disappointment

"When things go awry and you become unhinged, force yourself to think about the other 95 percent of your life that′s perfectly fine. . . . Most disappointments are temporary takedowns, not cataclysmic disasters."

About Jimmy Calano
JIMMY CALANO founded the international training company CareerTrack in 1982. Just 10 years later, it had become one of the world′s largest purveyors of personal and professional development videotapes, audiotapes, and seminar–style training programs. After presiding over CareerTrack for 13 years, Calano sold the company to a multinational corporation. He is coauthor of Real World 101 and CareerTracking, and lives in Boulder, Colorado.
