This is the 11th edition of the Insurance Pocket Book, following its highly successful launch in 1993. The Insurance Pocketbook has rapidly established itself as a key reference work for insurance and risk management professionals. It contains a large variety of helpful statistics and background information on one of the UK's leading industries, with general economic and demographic data to set it in context.
The principal focus of the book is on the United Kingdom insurance market. To this end, there are sections on life assurance, on friendly societies, on life reassurance companies, on the general insurance company market, and on Lloyd's and the London Market. There is also a section on risk management and one on specialised insurance carriers. However, the world beyond these shores is not ignored, and a survey of the major overseas markets is included.
Each section contains a range of statistical information and discussions of the background of the data. To assist those who may wish to undertake further research, the sources of all information have been given.
