This course uses "movies" that show the computer screen as we run MetaStock and give voice commentary. You will need a sound card. The movies start when you click on the lessons. There are 30 lessons grouped into chapters.
1. Setting up your Charts so you can see what you need to see.
A common problem experienced by MetaStock users revolves around the correct setting up of their Smart Charts, Charts, Layouts and Templates. All are powerful tools when used correctly, but a lack of understanding of these fundamentals will severely limit your capabilities. Starting at the beginning, you'll run through all these elements, with the confidence that your future charts and layouts will always appear the same way twice, and will provide a solid basis for more complex future explorations.
2. Working with Drawing Objects.
The basic principle of technical analysis is that prices move in trends and that history repeats itself. We will teach you how to use drawing objects such as trendlines and Fibonacci Retracements to help you visually identify price trends and indicator movements.
3. Applying MetaStock Indicators to your Charts (and creating new ones yourself)
We'll show you how to format and display indicators, both individually and in combined groups. You will learn how to take shortcuts that will dramatically cut the time that you spend applying often-used indicators to your charts.
This alone will save you untold hours. We'll even show you how to write your own indicators.
4. Working with the Explorer
We'll show you how to save the time and tedium of having to look for individual "hot stocks" by using the explorer to scan your entire database for stocks that meet certain criteria.
5. Applying Multiple Plot Lines to a Chart
Do you want to view the progress of your stock against the All Ordinaries Index and it's specific Index? We'll show you how to get all this information from MetaStock.
6. Trading Systems and System Tester
MetaStock will allow you to develop, test and automate trading systems. You will learn how to devise a set of trading criteria and back-test it on any stocks you wish. There's no better way to test your trading theories against actual market conditions.
