Dr NADEGE GENETAY is currently Lecturer in Accounting and Finance in the School of Management at the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST). Her main research interests focus on recent developments in the financial services industry, in particular, the phenomena of bancassurance and financial conglomeration. PHILIP MOLYNEUX is currently Professor in Banking and Finance and Director of the Institute of European Finance (IEF) at the University of Wales, Bangor. His main area of research relates to the structure, efficiency and performance of banking markets and financial centres. He has written widely in the area including publications in: the Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, Economica, Applied Economics, Journal of Post Keynesian Economics and the Journal of Economics and Business. He as acted as a consultant to the New York Federal Reserve Bank and is currently a member of the UK's National Institute's Advisory Panel on the European Financial Markets Programme.
